University of Pittsburgh "Is Pulling for Eric LeGrand"

I was at the Pitt vs. Rutgers game with my wife and while I was on a hunt for the Cotton Candy Man she noticed something and mentioned it upon my return. I had noticed it myself but wasn't sure what it was all about. She asked the student sitting next to us what the sticker on his shirt was about and he explained that it was in support of a recently paralyzed Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand. LeGrand a linemen was hurt during a game on October 15 in the Rutgers vs. Army game. There has been a huge public display of support for the LeGrand family as they try go deal with this tragedy. The Rutgers University Athletic Department has set up the "Eric LeGrand Believe Fund" for those who want to make donations to help the family in this time of need. On the Pitt campus a banner was hung and several football players handed out stickers that read "PITT is pulling for Eric LeGrand" Rutgers football players all wear stickers above their facemasks that say "Believe". More recently the NBA's New Jersey's Nets staff and ownership group have donated $75,000 to the family in support of Eric. We understand how physical & violent the game of football can be we respect the players that are willing to take that risk every time they suit up. I want to personally say to the LeGrand family that you are all in my family's prayers continuously and I want to wish Eric a speedy recovery!

Jamie Dixon Rescues Car Accident Vitcim

Jamie Dixon pulled a person from a vehicle Saturday night on I-279 in Pittsburgh. A car was flipped over on the side near the McKnight Road exit and Mr Dixon pulled over and was able to rescue a person trapped inside. The car was not on fire however reports confirm the victim did sustain a broken ankle from the accident. Jamie Dixon was checked out by emergency medical staff on the scene and released immediately. If your not familiar with sports especially college basketball you aren't aware of who Jamie Dixon is. He is the Head Coach of the University of Pittsburgh men's' team. His occupation at this juncture doesn't matter his actions are what count.

Still Here

Its been a while since the last update & I apologize a lot has gone on recently. I want to thank you for the support I check the stats often & even when I don't tweet about an update the traffic is still flowing to the site. Just had to take some time off & do some research & it looks as though some major changes will be take place. Its all for the better but if you have been checking for updates & haven't seen them know that I am still working on content I'm constantly looking for positive pieces to post but I want to get everything in line for the re-launch in 2011. Week 5 NFL Picks

Bad news Steeler fans NO GAME THIS WEEK! I know expect the local malls, supermarkets & restaurants to be JAM PACKED this Sunday. I was TERRIBLE last week (6-7). But lets forget about that & jump right into this weeks picks!

 

Jaguars vs. BILLS - The Bills are terrible & the Jags are coming off a huge upset of the Colts. Its not out of the question to expect the Jaguars to have a huge let down but this is THE BILLS they are TERRIBLE Jaguars 27-16

 

Chiefs vs. COLTS you do NOT want to play against Peyton Manning after a loss esp. a tough loss to a team that SUCKS (the Jaguars). The twist to this one? The Chiefs are the only undefeated team left in the NFL will they take their streak to 4? I doubt it Colts 28-17

 

Packers vs. REDSKINS Clinton Portis is out, Santana Moss said this week the offense is out of sync & the Packers defense is good. Packers lack a feature running back but I'm taking Packers 35-21

 

Rams vs. LIONS-The Rams rookie QB is showing signs of promise but I like the Lions defensive line…Lions 24-20

 

Bears vs. PANTHERS -Bears D-linemen Julius Peppers vs. his old team. Bears QB Cutler is not going to play this could be the battle of bad QB's I foresee a defensive score. Panthers 13-7

 

Falcons vs. BROWNS - Don't expect much of what you saw last week from the Browns this week. The Falcons show signs of being a top 10 team and good teams don't lose to bad ones Falcons 28-10

 

Broncos vs. RAVENS- I'll take the Yinzer approach really quickly Bmore was LUCKY to leave DA Burgh with a win last week in a game in which the Steelers offense couldn't close out the game. Do NOT blame the defense for that loss the offense should have put up more points they had plenty of chances and to have the ball up 4 with 2 mins left & not end the game in the victory formation? Horrible. That said the Ravens pass defense is going up against the best pass offense in the league thus far. UH OHHH Broncos 24-13

 

Saints vs. CARDINALS- This is going to be UGLY the Cards have Max Hall starting an undrafted rookie QB. I see this as a game that Drew Brees lets loose Saints 40-10

 

Titans vs. COWBOYS - Dallas confuses me but I think this isn't a game they can win even though Vince Young does like to put on a show when he is in his home state Cowboys 28-21

 

Chargers vs. RAIDERS - The raiders have to win sometime right? I thought it would have been last week. I was wrong I don't want to be wrong again Chargers 26-13

 

Vikings vs. JETS - Moss is going to play and I hear Revis is going to play as well. I don't expect to much from that matchup. This will be a test for the Jets & QB Sanchez vs. an above average defense. I have NO faith in that guy. Vikings 28-16

 

Panthers Rebound Thanks to Graham's Career Performance

After a somewhat disappointing 1-2 start to this season the University of Pittsburgh Panthers needed a spark to get the season that was filled with such promise back on track. Star tail back Dion Lewis was sidelined so the Panthers leaned on their other sophomore tail back #1 in your programs #1 in Pitt Fan hearts Ray Graham. With teams keying on stopping Heisman hopeful Lewis, Graham has been able to pile up 2 100 yard games and that streak would stretch to 3 after Pitt defeated Florida International 44-17. Graham rushed for a unbelievable 277 yards & 3tds. His performance was the 2nd most rushing yards in Pitt history 2nd only to the great Tony Dorsett's 303. If you missed it you can go to www.espn3.com to watch the replay. As a Pitt fan I am very excited about what the future holds for the amazing tandem of backs Pitt has in Lewis & Graham. Now that the Panthers are 2-2 lets hope they can string together some victories & contend for the Big East title.

NFL Week 4 Picks

I was a bit under the weather last wee so I didn't make any pics...yes I know...PROFESSIONAL SLACKER! But lets get right into it as always home team is in BOLD my pick/prediction is in red


Jets vs BILLS- The Bills just cut their starting QB the Jets tried to claim him off waivers to as Jets head coach Rex Ryan put it "Pick his brain" really Rex? Here's the key to beating them put 11 people on the field in Jets uniforms! Jets 24-10

Bengals vs BROWNS- Carson Palmer hasn't looked impressive in a long time but the Browns are bad...easy win Palmer has a BIG game but don't be fooled he isn't as good as stats from THIS game will show Bengals 30-6

Broncos vs TITANS - Seems as though Vince Young has bounced back since the Steelers D got him benched this game is going to be a good one, one of the better ones to be played should be close too Broncos 24-21

Panthers vs SAINTS- Brees is hurt, the Saints are coming off a heart breaking loss to the Falcons & the Saints are at home smells like an upset right? WRONG Brees rally's the troops & Jimmy Clausen leaves NOLA without a win Saints 28-13

Lions vs PACKERS - So the Pack to an L to a rival why do you think everyone always says "You have to throw out the records & everything in a game like this" BECAUSE YOU DO! Don't expect them to take an L here though Packers 27-17

Seahawks vs RAMS- most boring game on the sched(YAWN)ule (don't you hate when people try to talk through their yawn?) Rams 21-17

49ers vs FALCONS- I won't be fooled again by the 9ers...but this smells like a trap game for the Falcons coming off that emotional win over the Saints you can expect a let down right? NOPE Falcons 31-6

Ravens vs STEELERS- I'm a Steeler fan...I'm upset at how the media force fed us this NON-story about Big Ben texting Ray Lewis...dead issue Steelers 21-13

Texans vs RAIDERS- The Raiders are terrible...the Texans have a serious running game but they are going against a VERY good defense UPSET! Raiders 17-10

Colts vs JAGUARS- If you have ANY Colts player on your fantasy team START HIM!!! Peyton racks up the points in this one Colts 35-10 (don't worry Jags fans the game should be blacked out so you won't have to suffer through it)

Redskins vs EAGLES- Is Mike Vick really this good? Is Mcnabb going to come & show Philly what they are missing? Vick is playing out of his mind & the Skins lost to the RAMS last week this one will be close Eagles 24-20

Cardinals vs CHARGERS- I'm angry that the Cards didn't do anything to bring in a new QB once Warner said he was done...now their season in a weak division is blown as are my chances at winning fantasy football because I have Breaston Hightower & FITZ! Stevie B is hurt by the way Chargers 24-10

Bears vs GIANTS- Are the Giants really this bad? I think they should be trying to get Plaxico out of jail or SOMETHING! THEY NEED HELP! Bears are riding an emotional high will they hit the wall? or will the G-men get it together? I say Bears 17-13

Patriots vs DOLPHINS- The Pats d is TRASH! the Dolphins offense is dangerous this should be interesting Phins 28-24

Daily Mojovation

Good Morning & Happy Friday! As always GOD is good!
I anticipate it being a very good day & a productive weekend! I doubt you need much Mojovation on the first Friday of the month! For some of us its a payday & that is motivating esp if you have all/most of your bills paid. For others they are just glad its Friday because that means the weekend is here & they are off work. For others still they are excited about Pitt playing FIU & the Steelers playing the Ravens should be very good football weekend in the 412. No matter what is motivating you to be excited about today just do me a favor & call someone & tell them you love them. Scroll through your phone & find someone you haven't talked to in a while & just let them know...Don't TEXT! CALL! if you can GO SEE THEM! We get to caught up in technology that we forget we are REAL PEOPLE! Its cool to read "I LUV U" on a phone screen but its better to SEE it & get a hug with it! Whatever you are doing just enjoy the weekend & be safe PLEASE!
