Am I a Yinzer or is Goodell nuts?

With the impending suspension of Steelers Starting QB two-time Super Bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger for  4 games. I can't help but wonder whether or not I'm a PURE Yinzer through & through OR is NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell flat out nuts? Lets be clear I'm not about to try to drudge to deep into Big Ben's behavior suffice it to say I know first hand homey is a jerk. I've PERSONALLY dealt with him a time or two. ANYWAY lets try to keep this a factual as possible OK? (read more after the jump)

Fact #1 Ben was not arrested for any crime since being in the NFL
Fact #2 He has never been charged, indicted, tried or convicted of anything illegal since the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him 11th overall in the 2004 NFL Draft.

With that being said we have to mention that Ben has been known to have some problems with the ladies (understatement of the decade?) There's the situation he had in Lake Tahoe as well as the ordeal down in Milledgeville Ga and there was speculation of at least 1 more "situation" with a young lady from the New England area? Details about the Boston situation have not come out completely so lets just leave it at that. I think its safe to say Ben is a Super Star in the NFL? Right? So this problem that he had down in Georgia made national news & was a HUGE deal for MONTHS! But again he was never arrested or anything in the aftermath. Com. Goodell subsequently suspended Ben for a min. of 4 games a max of 6 for the 2010-11 season & demanded he undergo some mental treatment & get his act together. Since April when the suspension was handed down several other NFL players have been in legal trouble lets run down some of those?

Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young started a BRAWL not a fight a BRAWL in a Strip Club in June 2010. Official reports state Young was the "prime suspect" in a brawl that resulted in him being hit with a Class C citation. There is a video that shows Young attack someone in the club and everything. The choice was made after the situation was reviewed by Com. Goodell that Young would NOT be suspended for his actions. What makes that odd is Goodell comes down hard on players who frequent Strip Clubs (see PAC Man Jones). But WHATEVER! See the video if the fight Vince Young STARTED & for more details about the incident click here!

Cleveland Browns Defensive lineman Shaun Rogers was arrested for bringing a loaded gun into Hopkins International Airport. Rogers will not serve jail time but was fined by the league 1/17th of his $6.9 million earned per year. When asked about the fine Rogers said "How's it better? I'm still losing money..I don't play for free." NO Shaun you DO NOT play for free you earn a king's ransom for being overweight & playing a kids game. There are SEVERAL problems with this situation one being he doesn't care about what he did. He doesn't realize that fans are the one's who pay his salary & bringing that LOADED gun into a public airport put the people who basically sign his checks in danger. But it doesn't stop there!

Cedric Benson of the Cincinnati Bengals was arrested on assault charges in late June 2010 stemming from a bar fight in late May. Thus far he has not been fined or suspended.

Brandon Underwood a defensive back for the Green Bay Packers was accused of sexual assault. Keywords here are ACCUSED & SEXUAL ASSAULT same accusations brought against Big Ben. So if Ben was suspended why not Underwood?
There are other examples of misconduct including Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable was alleged to have assaulted another member of the Raiders staff though he was never charged (neither was Roethlisberger).

I'm saying all this to ask you one thing....Am I a Yinzer? Or is Roger Goodell a nut? We can go in even deeper with regard to Ben's suspension & state that while he serves the 4 games he is not allowed near the team. Oddly Jets Wide Receiver and former Steeler Santonio Holmes is suspended for the first four games of the regular season as well only for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Holmes is allowed to practice with the team and use the team's facilities throughout his suspension. Ben was suspended under the "violation of the league's personal conduct" he can not be anywhere near the team or even discuss football with anyone on the team. The reasoning behind that is Holmes & those like him are repeat violators who abuse a banned substance & need the team environment to help with their problem. That's cool I agree but shouldn't players in Ben's situation get the same treatment? Goodell did say Ben needed to change and I agree.
